General comments
Denk bij bijtwonden ook aan tetanus post-expositie profylaxe en indien van toepassing rabies post-expositie profylaxe.
Indicaties preventieve antibiotica (duur 5 dagen, middelen conform therapeutische adviezen hierboven):
- mensen- of kattenbeet
- bijtwond aan hand, pols, been of voet
- diepe prikbeet of kneusbijtwond of bij bijtwond en verminderde weerstand (diabetes mellitus, immunodeficiëntie, (chronisch) gebruik van orale corticosteroïden of cytostatica, (functionele) asplenie).
