General comments
Systemische therapie wordt geadviseerd naast lokale therapie bij systemische verschijnselen (koorts, algemeen ziekzijn) en/of risicofactoren (immuundeficiëntie, diabetes mellitus).
NB! Indien er verdenking bestaat op een otitis externa maligna; dan als zodanig behandelen (zie betreffende advies)!
Bij uitblijven van effect na 3 weken: kweek en resistentiebepaling
Bij uitblijven klinische respons ook kweek op schimmels insturen (eventuele behandeling op geleide van kweek).
